The Legal Marketing Advisory Team is seeking an attorney to review marketing materials for compliance with all consumer regulatory laws and internal marketing policies and controls. This position will report to the Assistant General Counsel, Marketing and will have responsibility for (1) identifying and assessing risks associated with online, branch, and/or small business and commercial bank marketing materials and practices; (2) active engagement and legal support of online, branch, and/or small business and commercial bank marketing initiatives as part of a collaborative and cross-functional team; and (3) working with Bank, Brand, Operations, IT, and Compliance stakeholders to address risks, develop creative solutions, and resolve issues. This position will entail numerous interactions with creative business partners, Legal Department subject matter experts and senior line of business attorneys in a fast-paced environment. This position will also involve development and updating of enterprise legal marketing standards with the Marketing Review team.
Qualifications: Basic Requirements: -At least a JD (Juris Doctorate) -At least 3 years of counsel experience with marketing laws and regulations and/or regulatory experience Preferred Requirements: -4-9 years of counsel or compliance experience with consumer finance laws, regulations and disclosures, especially mortgage and unsecured and secured loans and lines of credit -In-house, corporate legal experience -Ability to identify and describe legal risks presented by very detailed marketing materials -Ability to build collegial and effective relationships with attorneys, business managers, analysts, project managers, and Corporate Compliance professionals -Ability to prioritize a significant volume of marketing materials and to manage multiple, simultaneous deadlines -Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others -Spanish fluency a plus
