State Employee Only - E Job Duties NOVA VDOT is seeking a Telecommunications Specialist to support and assist the District's Information Technology Department in providing end user support services.
You will provide problem management, troubleshooting, and escalations to resolve customer problems with wireless devices and VTC equipment.
In addition to providing turnkey support as Telecommunications Coordinator, you will work with VITA, NG and internal IT staff ensuring problems are resolved in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include but may not be limited to:
End-user Support- Procurement, activation, end user technical support, training and detailed record keeping, to comply with the VDOT Mobile Communications Use Memorandum.
Procurement, Buyer for District IT and Administration Section through eVA.
Assist in Inventory control, auditing and surplus.
IT Support Services under the direction of the DTRM- Utilize high level of support services to enhance IT troubleshooting capabilities to agency field staff for wireless device and VTC needs.
Training and Support- Provide support and training to District SharePoint Power Users.
End user Support- Provide technical support with VTC and AV connections, troubleshooting and scheduling.
Distribution and training of SecureID Token (FOBs).
Coordinate Telecommunication Services to include wireless devices (mobile phones, MiFi), landlines (Centrex, UCaaS).
Additional Administrative duties may be assigned as needed.

Minimum Qualifications Ability to gather, analyze data and prepare reports.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working and interpersonal relationships with all divisions and customers.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with individuals and groups.
Ability to exercise judgment and creativity in selecting and applying procedures correctly.
Determine when to refer problems to the supervisor or next level of support.
Skill in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Desktop products (Windows, SharePoint, Outlook, Exchange, and MS Office Suite) Ability to prioritize, organize multiple demands in a continuously changing environment and meet established deadlines.
Skill in the use of troubleshooting tools, managing and administering wireless devices.
Capability to work with minimum supervision and act as lead when the need arises.
Additional Considerations Experience with Microsoft Desktop products, wireless devices and VTC equipment.
A combination of training, experience, or education in Telecommunications, Information Systems or related field desirecd.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
