This position will support Monitoring Applications that run on MS/Linux operation systems Description:
To serve as a technical subject matter export for support of the monitoring application portfolio and cloud enabled products, providing moderately complex (Tier II and III) operational support to the organization.
Function as an Monitoring Infrastructure Engineer who knows how hardware and software components fit together and integrate with cloud-based resources and on-prem environments.
Ensure operational stability, efficiency, asset management, change control, performance management, metric development, security/risk and integrity of system.
Provide operational support input related to application analysis and infrastructure design.
Responsibilities:
Conduct deep technical and business discovery sessions with customers and develop creative solutions to challenges uncovered.
Analyze customer network topologies and application stacks; develop strategies to acquire high-value data from the wire.
Profile industry-specific applications across a broad range of verticals; create technical assets and written collateral to support product improvement and marketing efforts.
Conduct root causes analysis of high-profile technology problems and advises customers on their resolution.
Create automated tools to streamline repeatable processes and maximize time spent building intelligent solutions.
Conduct hands-on learning sessions with key customer personnel.
Provide day-to-day operational support.
Oversee and coordinate recovery operations in the event of operational failure.
Recommend, develop, and maintain accurate documentation for supported environments.
Coordinate and identify gaps in monitoring for supported environments.
Serve as a subject matter expert in the migrations of on-prem applications into a cloud-based environment in multiple data centers.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting during times of application failure.
Required Knowledge/Skills/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, or information technology.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in Information Technology, particularly networking and systems administration.
Experience in customer-facing positions; excellent interpersonal skills.
Understanding of core networking principles and application protocols.
Experience with scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript.
Excellent written communication skills.
Independence, motivation, and desire for practice ownership.
Experience working in the financial industry.
Demonstrated experience working in a 24/7/365 IT Operational Environment.
Strong knowledge and understanding of network architecture, protocols, routing, switching technologies.
Strong knowledge of on-prem to SaaS connections (Equinix Cloud Exchange/AWS Direct Connect/Google Cloud Provider).
Experience with Microsoft and Linux Operating Systems.
Additional Knowledge/Skills/
Experience:
Strong knowledge of hardware and software (REQUIRED) for one or more of the following Applications.
- LogicMonitor - Broadcom APM / Spectrum - Dynatrace - Splunk - Grafana - Moogsoft - Extrahop Familiarity with network security, IDS, and SIEM technologies Familiarity with security frameworks such as MITRE ATT, NIST, or CIS Controls Ability to adapt to different enterprise security requirements Ability to communicate security hygiene best-practices.
