Summary:
Rango's Tex-Mex & Grill, a thriving eatery where the vibrant flavors of Texas meet the rich culinary heritage of Mexico, is on the lookout for a warm, welcoming, and enthusiastic Host or Hostess.
As the face of our restaurant, you'll set the tone for our guests' dining experience, making their first and last impression with us a delightful one.
Your role is pivotal in managing the flow of our restaurant, from greeting guests with a smile to seating them comfortably and efficiently handling reservations.
Duties:
Extend a warm, genuine welcome to all guests upon their arrival, ensuring they feel immediately at home.
Escort guests to their tables, provide them with menus, and brief them on any specials or recommendations for the day.
Skillfully manage reservation books and waitlists, ensuring timely and accurate seating arrangements that optimize dining room flow and guest satisfaction.
Maintain an organized, clean, and inviting entrance and dining area, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Address guest inquiries, provide information about our menu and services, and handle any concerns with grace and efficiency.
Proactively anticipate guest needs, providing attentive service that exceeds expectations and elevates their dining experience.
Operate the POS system for guest check-in, managing orders and payments when necessary.
Stay informed about menu items, daily specials, and promotions to accurately inform guests and enhance their dining choices.
Experience:
Prior experience in a host or customer service role within the restaurant, hospitality, or hotel industry is preferred but not essential.
Exceptional customer service skills, with a friendly, outgoing personality and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse guests.
A solid understanding of guest service principles and practices, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a bustling environment.
Familiarity with reservation systems, phone etiquette, and restaurant POS systems is advantageous.
A team player attitude, ready to collaborate with all staff to create a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for every guest.
