To provide administrative support by coordinating section functions and workflow to ensure check and statement copy requests are expedited. To assist the supervisor with oversight of the Specialists, and testing and monitoring technical systems.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES1. Facilitates the successful completion of section functions. Guides and coordinates the fulfillment of check and statement copy requests that require technical expertise in the operating system (research & Delivery Systems - RDS) Adjusts and prioritizes workload distribution in order to meet production targets and Navy Federal and regulatory deadlines Assists the supervisor with researching and resolving complex escalated request discrepancies and appropriately communicates solutions to members and/or internal business contacts Researches, identifies and resolves problems such as equipment malfunction; escalates more complex equipment performance issues to vendors and ISD and keeps supervisor informed of delays impacting section operations Assist supervisor in monitoring the delivery and retrieval of back-up files/CDs to and from offsite storage to ensure that files are properly tracked, catalogued, and stored2. Monitors section operations and processes for efficiency and accuracy; recommends and coordinates implementation of operational adjustments for improvement. Determines and recommends adjustments to workflow and processing priorities; coordinates and guides staff with implementation of changes Reviews work quality, methods, and procedures to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement; develops alternatives and provides recommendations to enhance business processes Serves as a liaison to vendors and ISD regarding the maintenance and servicing of equipment and automated systems Works with Internal Audit to ensure compliance with NFCU policies and procedures for processing member transactions, and assists with responses to requests from internal and external auditors Acts as a liaison with General Accounting and Data Control to ensure appropriate processing of cash items erroneously included with transactions copies Compiles statistical data for inclusion in the branch report and section reports Administers, test and monitors the performance of software systems, and assists supervisor with testing and researching new equipment and software with vendors, Procurement Branch, etc.3. Provides administrative support to the section supervisor. Assists with employee training & development: conducts audits on staff work, measures results against established performance/production standards and documents; provides coaching and counseling Prepares, collates and reviews employee monthly/quarterly performance summaries to include production statistics and accuracy Provides input on performance appraisals and participates in the hiring process Ensures adherence to security standards and federal regulations by monitoring the storage of daily business transactions on various media via administration of a proprietary database4. Performs other related duties as required or appropriate.QUALIFICATIONS -- KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESTarget: Experience in progressively responsible positions in an office or administrative environment preferably a financial institution Thorough knowledge of negotiable instruments Experience retrieving and/or researching archive media such as microfilm, images, etc. Ability to accurately interpret and apply regulations, guidelines and instructions Strong organization, research and problem solving skills and the ability to work with changing priorities Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor others Demonstrated critical thinking with strong attention to detail, and ability to exercise a high level of initiative and sound judgment Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with various external and internal contacts Effective PC skills to include word processing, databases and spreadsheet softwareDesired: Knowledge of federal regulations applicable to financial institutions Basic knowledge of credit unions and /or Navy Federal products,

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
