As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
Work with the stakeholders, both internal and external, to define requirements that are compliant with general federal laws, Department of Treasury IT policies and standards, Government Accountability Office (GAO), Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Congressional, and Executive Office directives and regulations on computer security and other legislative mandates. Work with the GSOC staff to defining a solution to the requirements that can be implemented within or accommodated with an evolution of the GSOC architecture. Day-to-day operations and maintenance of the system. Performs modifications of the current system. This process involves the steps listed above from Requirements Definition, System Design, and System Implementation leading to ATO. Experience:
For the GS-13, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience in designing, developing, testing, and implementing IT applications specific to cyber security; AND Experience with Java Programming, Scripting using a language such as Python or Perl and developing in UNIX/Linux environment; AND Experience with Data Analysis/Parsing, Regex, and ETL implementation. In addition to meeting specialized experience, applicants must also show proficiency in 1) attention to detail, 2) customer service, 3) oral communication, and 4) problem solving.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
